The 11th week of preparation is behind me. And I have a two-week break from running ahead of me. But before that, I gave my best this week.
I started with a stair run as interval training like three weeks ago. Thanks to nice company and mutual motivation, this time it was even one more round. Eight times 400 steps up and down. I was positively surprised about my performance. My heart rate was pretty high and I made it through each time without any problems. I didn't have any complaints afterwards either.
The acquittance came on the second day of training. I had planned my long relaxed run. And this time it was very long. Before the break, I wanted to try again and ran 23 km for the second time in this preparation. I know that's not necessary, but the ambition was so great. Unfortunately, the discomfort afterwards was correspondingly great. After running up and down stairs and a long run. I'd rather not do it again. Unfortunately, my time management didn't allow for anything else this week. I'd rather not tell anyone that the other two runs followed directly in the days after. Even though I know myself that training four days in a row is not a good idea. And even though I only wrote about regeneration last week.
But as I said, I now have a two-week break from running. I don't say holiday on purpose. Of course it is a two-week holiday, but it will be very active with sightseeing and hiking. After the last holiday I was asked if we ever did nothing for a day. Yes, there was such a day. It rained and we only went shopping. In the supermarket 3km away and 200 metres in altitude. We only walked the distance there and back. Nothing more.
But I will also use the two weeks to gain some mental distance. That helped a lot last time. Afterwards, I will start the last three weeks of preparation with a fresh head. Because then the real thing starts.
